After experiencing the loss of her mother and navigating the challenges of postpartum depression and anxiety, Catherine found solace in an unexpected place: creating 3D plaster art.

“Arkateori was born from a tough time,” Catherine explains. “Losing my mom was incredibly painful, and postpartum struggles added another layer of difficulty. But creating texture art became a lifeline. It was a way to express myself, a way to process emotions, and a way to find peace.”
Arkateori isn’t your typical art studio. Sure, you’ll learn techniques and create beautiful pieces, but the real focus is on play. “We encourage exploration” Catherine says. “Forget copying – use the tools and materials to create something truly personal, something that reflects you.“
The creative process at Arkateori goes beyond aesthetics. By setting intentions before workshops and incorporating mindfulness practices, Catherine helps participants unlock emotional expression and find a space for healing.
Catherine has a powerful message for aspiring mothers juggling dreams and motherhood: “Our flaws can become our superpowers. We worry and multitask, but remember, taking care of ourselves is essential. Our children shouldn’t inherit our pain. Prioritize your well-being, carve out that ‘me time,’ and chase those dreams – you deserve it!“
