More Than a Malt: The Glendronach’s New Era Embraces Heritage and Innovation
The Glendronach, the revered Highland single malt, recently celebrated a captivating brand relaunch in Kuala Lumpur. Whisky aficionados and tastemakers alike gathered at the esteemed NADODI restaurant, immersing themselves in a day of splendor and revelry.
Bathed in a rich burgundy hue, NADODI provided the perfect backdrop for this momentous occasion. Guests were greeted with a tantalizing cocktail crafted with The Glendronach 12 Year Old, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey into the brand’s new era. Whisky connoisseurs, entrepreneurs, and trendsetters mingled amongst captivating product displays, their excitement palpable as they anticipated the unveiling of The Glendronach’s revitalized identity.
Dave Jony, Brand Ambassador of Brown-Forman Singapore, expertly guided guests through The Glendronach’s latest campaign, “Raise Expectations.” A gastronomic crescendo awaited as Chef Yahvin Siri of NADODI presented a meticulously curated three-course menu, each dish expertly paired with the robust yet fruity expressions of The Glendronach. The enchanting melodies of violinist and music producer Dennis Lau further elevated the experience, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance.
Sally Goh, Emerging Asia General Manager of Brown-Forman Asia, and Joni Na, Emerging Asia Brand Manager, eloquently articulated the brand’s new direction, emphasizing the synergy between The Glendronach’s heritage and NADODI’s commitment to authentic South Indian flavours. Stuart Fear, Brown-Forman Regional Brand Ambassador and newly appointed Keeper of the Quaich, shared captivating tales from the distillery, adding a personal touch to the evening.
The Glendronach’s new visual identity exudes timeless elegance. While the bottle design has evolved over the decades, the iconic artist’s rendering of the distillery remains a steadfast symbol of the brand’s dedication to sherry cask maturation. This commitment to tradition ensures that while the packaging may transform, the liquid within retains its unparalleled richness and complexity.
The Glendronach’s distinctive character is born from a meticulous selection of sherry casks. Oloroso casks impart notes of crisp spice and nutty oak, while Pedro Ximénez casks contribute a decadent richness, depth, and hints of dark chocolate. This harmonious marriage of flavours creates the signature Glendronach profile, a testament to the whisky makers’ artistry.
To further celebrate this new chapter, The Glendronach invites whisky enthusiasts to embark on a culinary adventure at NADODI. Until November 30th, 2024, a specially curated seven-course menu – priced at RM900+ awaits, each course perfectly paired with exquisite expressions from The Glendronach’s 12, 15, and 21 Year Old collections.
