Celebrating Heritage with the Newest Collection
TUMI’s celebration of its 50th anniversary and the unveiling of its Spring/Summer 2025 collection was a full-blown sensory journey, a vibrant homage to the brand’s Peruvian roots, right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. At Torito, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, the air crackled with anticipation, a far cry from the usual sterile product presentation. This was a narrative woven with threads of heritage, innovation, and the spirit of adventure, all set against the backdrop of South American flair.

The scene wasn’t just about showcasing luggage; it was about transporting guests. The night was all about striking hues inspired by Andean textiles, like the mesmerizing Iridescent Dusk, mingling with the refined ambiance of Torito. It was a visual feast, a nod to Peru’s rich landscapes and artisanal traditions. Guests, including local celebrities like Danny Ahboy and Alicia Amin, weren’t just attendees; they were explorers, embarking on a multi-sensory adventure.
The collection itself? A testament to TUMI’s evolution. The 19 Degree Lite, now boasting its lightest hardside luggage yet, spoke of effortless mobility, a necessity for today’s globetrotters. Alpha Bravo’s rugged designs, splashed with vibrant Red/Lime Chameleon, echoed the dynamic energy of Peruvian cityscapes. And Voyageur’s refreshed silhouettes, in natural sand tones, offered a touch of feminine elegance.

But the experience went beyond mere aesthetics. A Peruvian Coffee Tasting Bar, a nod to the country’s renowned coffee culture, engaged the senses, highlighting TUMI’s dedication to detail. Chef Ivan Casusol’s curated menu, a fusion of heritage and modernity, mirrored the collection’s essence. And a personalized engraving station allowed guests to leave with a tangible piece of the celebration.
As DJ Ashley Lau’s electrifying mix filled the air, the evening transformed into a vibrant celebration of TUMI’s 50-year legacy. Randy Wong, General Manager of TUMI Southeast Asia, captured the essence of the collection: “It’s about movement—through cultures, landscapes, and experiences.” This wasn’t just a launch; it was a re-connection, a celebration of TUMI’s journey, and a glimpse into its future. The Spring/Summer 2025 Collection, now available nationwide and online, is more than just luggage; it’s a passport to inspired travel.
