Nobu Kuala Lumpur’s New Menu Is the Local Love Story You Didn’t Know You Needed

Nobu’s latest creations let local ingredients speak for themselves.

Fine dining can sometimes feel like a distant, polished world. But Nobu Kuala Lumpur’s new 4 Collaborations Menu is here to change that narrative, making it personal, local, and relevant.

Launching this July, the menu celebrates Malaysian craftsmanship by showcasing four exceptional local producers who embody sustainability, heritage, and passion. It’s not just about flavour, it’s about reconnecting with where our food comes from and the stories behind it.

A Collaboration That Is Crafted with homegrown pride and global finesse

Every detail matters, starting with Mu Artisan Soy Sauce, an aged, handcrafted soy sauce made right here in Malaysia that adds deep, soulful notes to the dishes. Then there’s Oo Edo Tofu, created by a Tokyo-born artisan now based in Malaysia, whose silky, organic tofu brings authentic Japanese craftsmanship infused with local care.

Fresh, organic produce from a little farm on the hill, like vibrant purple shiso leaves, lends brightness and earthiness to the seafood dishes. Finally, Amani Vanilla Temerloh’s hand-harvested vanilla beans add a delicate, fragrant sweetness, showing how local ingredients can elevate flavours with unexpected elegance.

Honouring tradition through dishes that surprise and delight.

These producers don’t simply provide ingredients, they preserve tradition, values, and stories that Nobu proudly supports. Executive Chef Philip Leong has taken these authentic elements and reimagined them through Nobu’s celebrated precision and creativity.

The result is a collection of dishes that are at once familiar and surprising such as the Chutoro Carpaccio served with a light, complex vanilla soy broth, or the Crispy Rice Toro paired with velvety tofu cream.

For those seeking more than just a meal, this menu offers a deeper connection. A taste of Malaysia’s culinary future rooted in respect for the past and a commitment to sustainability. Available for one month only this July, the 4 Collaborations Menu is a reminder that fine dining can be authentic, meaningful, and deeply supportive of local producers.
